WELCOME
Welcome to the HISTORIC MOTOR RACING NEWS web site. We hope you find this site useful, informative and easy to use.
Changes Around Here – To all Subscribers and Advertisers
I must apologise to all of you for the lateness of the April issue. Mishaps like this are increasing and we will be ending our arrangement with Motor Sport Magazine, who has, for the last few years, been handling our ad sales and administration for us and who, quite fairly, want to concentrate on their publication, while we concentrate on ours.
We are now re-taking control over our own destiny and this, I’m afraid, involves another office move, change of phone numbers, etc. Anyone in the publishing business will tell you that running a single publication, especially one that is quite narrowly targeted, is not really a viable business proposition. Yet Historic Motor Racing News has survived for 16 years while better-funded publications have come and gone. This is because all involved are enthusiasts who have the desire to keep and maintain a publication that we hope provides information that people involved in the sport want. It is no exaggeration to say that without the generosity of our contributors, subscribers and advertisers, we wouldn’t be here. They’ve come with us through thick and thin.
We’ve remained focussed on what we consider to be our reason for existence: news of historic motor sport. We will continue to deliver it to the best of our ability within the financial constraints that we have and we will try to continue to improve.
We will keep you informed, both by direct communication and via this web site. Our email addresses will not change. If you need to renew your subscription, please contact us by email and we will call you. If you would like to talk to me personally don’t hesitate to send me an email or give me a call on +41 (0)44 450 2370. I’m always happy to hear from you.
A new person will take charge of dealing with our advertisers and subscriptions and you will be informed of the contact details. In the meantime feel free to contact us at the editorial office in Zurich at the number above with any questions or requests.
Finally, with all this change, I cannot promise that the June issue will be on time. I hope you will be patient while we get settled in and back to a regular schedule.
Our intention in the near future is to offer on-line subscriptions to all who travel a lot or to those who don't want to wait for the post. However, the hardcopy will continue in case you like the feel of glossy paper in your hands.
Please contact us with further queries, comments, reports, gossip, corrections and information that we may have overlooked.
If you are a subscriber to the magazine, be sure to check out the interactive section for competitors. We hope to build this up as a valuable resource for car transport, hotel, flight and other information that will be of practical help to you. This section is interactive, so if you have tips and information, please share it with your fellow competitors.
Also, in the subscribers’ section we welcome race reports, stories, personal experiences, viewpoints and comments on the bulletin board. We reserve the right to publish anything we find there!
When we started we set ourselves the goal of becoming "the" voice of historic racing in Europe. The only way we have been able to achieve as much as we have is with the help of our readers, made up mostly of competitors and organisers, who keep us informed of their news.

 Racing Series

Having created and organised the Gentleman Drivers for World Endurance Sports and GT cars for seven years and started the Sports Racing Challenge for Sports Prototypes, we at Historic Motor Racing News are actively involved in promoting the sport.
Currently we are sponsoring and organising U2TC , a series for under two litre Touring Cars. Having debuted in 2006 with strong entries form Alfa Romeos, Lotus Cortinas, Minis, Abarths, Volvos and other pre-'66 European Championship Touring Cars, the series goes from strength to strength and has rounds in 2010 at Monza, Dijon, Silverstone Classic and Spa amongst others.
We are also involved in the exciting new Pre-'63 GT Mini Series, which ran at Silverstone Classic in 2009 and will run at Monza, Dijon and Silverstone in 2010.
See our "Race Series" page to download regulations and other information. Or give us a call.
